Guwahati News Desk: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and former Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal to visit Assam on August 19 to participate in the three-day Ashirbad Yatra.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal visit Assam for the first time after taking charge of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.
The leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) welcome Union Minister Sonowal at Lokripya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati by following the COVID protocol. Firstly, Union Minister Sonowal will participate in a public meeting at Azara and later will visit the Bhupen Hazarika memorial in Jalukbari to pay his tribute.
After returning back from Jalukbari, Sonowal will pay tribute to the statue of Bir Lachil Barphukan at Lachit Ghat in Fancy Bazar, and immediately after that, the Minister will head towards Pandu Port to take a stock of the port and then will make his way towards Maa Kamakhya Temple to offers his prayers.
On the same day, the Union Minister will attend a party meeting at the BJP headquarters in Hengrabari and later at 1.30 pm will address a press conference.
Then on the next day, the Minister will participate in a meeting at Jagiroad and later will visit Batadrawa Than in Nagaon. Several meetings have been organized where Sonowal will participate at Ashirbad yatra at Nagaon and Kaliabor Lok Sabha constituency.
Lastly, on August 21, Minister Sonowal will visit Jorhat and will participate in the Ashirbad Yatra at Sivasagar and later he will head to his hometown Dibrugarh.
