Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has issued new guidelines after an increase in COVID-19 positive cases across the state.

The guidelines were provided to control the rising number of cases.

The new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)’s issued by the state government on Tuesday, will be implemented till April 30.

All the grocery shops, shopping malls and other establishments remain close from 6 pm onwards. An organization that was willing to organize a function at an open place needs to take mandatory permission from the district administration.
Marriage functions to be conducted within 100 people and a maximum of 20 people will be allowed to attend funerals.

All the religious and worship places will allow a maximum of 20 people per hour and it will increase to 50 people in an hour in the iconic religious place within the state.

Speaking with Chintumani Deka, Bhotuwa Foods, “As we have recently established resorts in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya as due to the increasing COVID-19 cases both the state almost banned tourists which will be directly affecting the business and during these hard days we have to pay our staff without any source of income.”
“As guidelines notified by the state government to closed restaurants by 6 pm, the online food delivery instructions is yet to be received. No matter such action will also affect the restaurant business as actually active online delivery timing is from 9 pm to 11 pm,” Chintumani added.

Speaking with Akash Chauhan a Departmental Store Owner, said, “Customers basically rush to stores during the evening time after returning from the office which but will now see reduce in sale due to the guidelines.”
