Guwahati News Desk: A workshop on Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (Sankalp) was organised by Assam Skill Development Mission at Rabindra Bhawan in Hailakandi on Wednesday.
District Department Commissioner, Ranajeet Kumar Laskar was present in the event and urges youths to take up the creative step in their field of interest and skills.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Narendra Kumar Shah exhorted upon the youths to go in for enhancing their skills in the field of interest and talent which can lead to a huge opportunity for a lifetime.
Shah added that district has huge potential in bamboo, carpet making, pottery and indigenous toys.
Among 900 skill training centres 10 are established in Hailakandi.
Sankalp is a World Bank loan assisted programme, run by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to improve killing at the district level with the help of decentralised planning and quality improvement.
Centre has released funds to Assam under Skill India’s Sankalp Scheme.
