Guwahati News Desk: Government of Assam has decided to provide caste certificates to the students of class 9 and 10 from May 10.
The statement was made by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a media conference while addressing a meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners at the Assam Administrative Staff College at Khanapara on Tuesday.
CM Sarma tweeted, “At DC Conference through the day, reviewed the progress of GoA schemes like Mission Basundhara, Jal Jeevan Mission, Assam Mala, Arohan, provision of caste certificate for Class IX & X students, & flood preparedness. Directed DCs to ensure timely & speedy implementation of schemes.”
CM Sarma also added that “the decision was taken under a new scheme called ‘Aarohan’ under which around 50 to 100 students of classes 50 to 100 students of class 9 and 10 from every district across the State to receive caste certificate.”
