Guwahati News Desk: The Taliban rulers have now replaced the women’s ministry with an “all-male vice and virtue ministry” tasked with enforcing the group’s rigid interpretation of Islam.
The move was made on Saturday, that was the latest to harken back to the group’s harsh 1990s rule that imposed deep restrictions on women.
The Taliban inside the new ministry said they had not been informed about where or if a new women’s ministry was being planned.
Moreover, as most of the schools in Kabul have stayed shut since the Taliban captured the city just over a month ago. The Taliban officials have said that they will not return to the fundamentalist policies, including a ban on girls receiving an education, when they last ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.
In addition, they have now promised that girls will be able to study, but only in segregated classrooms.
According to sources, the Taliban have also said that they had made changes in order to reopen.
Some of the changes made included of girls to study in the morning and boys in the afternoon; Male teachers to teach the boys and female teachers to teach girls.
Thus, it has been worrying the entire world that another dark phase in the history of Afghanistan, particularly for the girls and women has started with the Taliban ruling the country.
