Guwahati News Desk: The State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhusan Choudhury have announced that the government of Assam has formed a special Task Force to control the price hike of essential commodities.
The force was formed for 10 days to control the price of essential commodities which includes potatoes and onions too.
The administration has fixed the price of vegetables in Pamohi market in Guwahati from today. The wholesale rate of onion will be Rs 50 per kg which will be sold around Rs 56/57 per kg in retail. The Task Forces will keep a strict eye on the vendors regarding the price hike.
Choudhury said that onions to be sold at Rs 35 per kg in 9,000 cooperative shops in Assam as around 6,000 metric tonnes of onions have reached the state from outside.
