Guwahati News Desk: Around 450 tourists including women and children trapped in heavy snowfall were rescued by the Indian Army at Yongdi, Sikkim.
Sikkim experienced severe snowstorm and sub-zero temperatures on Wednesday. At least 120 vehicles carrying tourists were stranded and started gliding after the snowstorm.
The Indian Army cleared the snow and evacuated the vehicles and provided the tourists with proper medical support.
However, no injuries or causalities reported yet.
