Guwahati News Desk: In an unfortunate incident, at least 11 people died and 16 others were injured when a mini-truck rammed into another truck in Gujarat in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The victims were heading towards Pavagadh in Panchmahal district around 2.45 am when the accident took place at Waghodia circle near the city.
Speaking on the incident, Vadodara Police Commissioner R B Brahmbhatt said, “At least 10 persons, including five women, died in the accident. The mini-truck, carrying around 25 people, rammed into a truck trailer from behind”.
The injured persons were rushed to a civil hospital, Vaghela added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief and twitted, “Saddened by the accident in Vadodara. My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones. Praying that the injured recover soon. The administration is providing all possible assistance at the site of the accident.”
Meanwhile, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident.
