Guwahati News Desk: The 36-year-old musician Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. popularly known as Young Dolph was shot dead on Wednesday.
The incident took place at a bakery in his hometown of Memphis.
According to local media, the artist was fatally shot while visiting the Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies shop near the city’s airport on Wednesday.
In addition, the news of the rapper’s death was confirmed by the Mayor of Memphis, Jim Strickland. He said, “The tragic shooting death of rap artist Young Dolph serves as another reminder of the pain that violent crime brings with it.”
Moreover, Young Dolph had also been the target of shootings in the past. Back in February of 2017, the rapper had informed that his vehicle was shot at multiple times in Charlotte. Then in September of the same year, he was injured in a shooting in Los Angeles.
Furthermore, several other well-known artists including Megan Thee Stallion and Chance The Rapper have paid tribute to the star. Megan Thee Stallion described Young Dolph as a friend and “true legend”.
