Guwahati News Desk: Legendary Bengali Actor Soumitra Chatterjee passes away at Kolkata Hospital on Sunday.
The 85-year-old actor was admitted to a hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on October 6.
Chatterjee received prestigious awards like Padma Bhusan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award including three National Film Awards.
The legend also had collaborations with Satyajit Ray.
The passing away of Sri Soumitra Chatterjee, an actor per excellence, is undoubtedly a great loss to the nation & Indian cinema. His works with eminent director Oscar Award winner Sri Satyajit Ray are immortal & will continue to be. He has made a permanent place in the heart of the people by his fabulous acting skills & will remain in our hearts forever. His work in Apu Trilogy is a notable one. He has made the character of Feluda in Feluda Series of Sri Satyajit Ray a real one through his exceptional acting.
