Guwahati News Desk: The Kamrup Metro District Administration (KMDA) has installed steel barricade in the entry and exit point in the containment zones on Thursday to restrict the movement with immediate effect.
The barricade was seen installed at AT Road, KRB Road, Machkhowa entry points and its nearby areas to ban movements of individuals and vehicles.
During a conversation with a resident of AT Road with Hello Guwahati he said, “Here we got to know that our area have maximum numbers of COVID-19 positive cases but this time unlike last year no containment zones stickers were seen at homes of the positive people which worries us a lot”.
“Some vendors are selling vegetables, fruits and meat in double prices which became hard for us to buy. People are also afraid of buying as no vendors have done rapid tests”.
On the other hand, one from Kumarpara has informed us that few people seen making movements into the containment zones without using any mask and social distancing. Only when the police officials arrived they manage to hide, well that’s an everyday scene.
It was also informed by them that those people plying during the market time from 8 am to 12 pm in the containment zones, mixes up with the masses.
The houses were so close to each other in the AT Road and its nearby areas where unknown people seen crossing boundaries, gates and bylanes during curfew timing.
