Guwahati News Desk: Kamal Krishna Das, a twelve-year-old boy from Guwahati, has crossed the mighty Brahmaputra river from Kharghuli to North Guwahati in 28 minutes.
The incident took place on October 25, 2020.
In conversation with Bidita Bhattacharyya of Hello Guwahati, Kamal said:
“I study in class eight at Saint Anthony’s School and I have learned swimming at Sarusajai Stadium, and from my grandfather and my father.”
As per the report, a boat accident took place on September 5, 2018, while traveling from Fancy Bazar to North Guwahati where he survived. He managed to save his two family members during the incident. Among them are his mother and aunt.
Due to his braveness, he was awarded Bravery Award from the President of India on January 26.
