Guwahati News Desk: A massive incident reported after two children were trapped inside a lift of newly installed foot-over bridge at Boripara in Maligaon on Saturday.
As per sources, the two children were stuck for half an hour in the lift as it was suspected that the incident took place due to electrical mislead.
Soon after the incident, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and city cops immediately rushed on the spot and started a rescue operation of the children.
The SDRF team had cut down the door of the lift to rescue the children and later they were sent for medical treatment.
The incident created a panic situation in the Boripara area. Similar multiple foot-over bridge were installed across the city as after the current incident people would be afraid to take the lift for communication.
The Boripara foot-over bridge was built at a cost worth Rs 10.58 crore and was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
