Guwahati News Desk: On the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day, President Ram Nath Kovind awarded 44 unique teachers from all over India with the National Teachers’ Award 2021 on Sunday.

The program was held in the virtual mode, where the 44 teachers were awarded for their exemplary work in education including the development of innovative methods of teaching to improve school education and enrich the lives of students.

In addition, a documentary film on each of the 44 awardees was also shown at the online ceremony.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared his best wishes for all the awardees as well.

Further emphasizing that the teachers needed to focus on the all-round development of students, while keeping in mind their different needs and interests, President Kovind said, “Teachers should keep in mind that every student has different capability, talent and psychology, social structure and background. Hence, they should focus on all round development of each child in accordance with the child’s needs, interests and capabilities.”

He added, “It is the duty of teachers that they develop interest towards studies in their students. Sensitive teachers can make the future of their students bright with their behaviour, conduct and teaching.”

He further added, “Our education system should be such that our students develop feelings of respect and dedication for constitutional values and duties of citizens. It should strengthen their love for country and make them aware about their role in changing global landscape.”

The President gave a series of tweets on the occasion as well.

Moreover, Sunday also marked the beginning of Shikshak Parv-2021 under the Ministry of Education. The programme is said to continue till September 17 and is going to be held in both online and offline modes.
