Guwahati News Desk: A massive bullet firing incident took place at Ranger Bell in Dima Hasao district in Assam on Friday.
According to the sources, miscreants showered bullets at five trucks and later set one truck on fire.
In the incident, at least five people were reported to be dead and recovered from the burning truck. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday.
According to the sources, the trucks were heading towards Lanka from Umrangso. It has been suspected that the horrific incident was held by DNLF extremists.
Police officials immediately rushed to the spot where the firing took place and the truck has been burned down. The rescue team recovered the burning bodies from the truck and sent them to the nearest hospital but five people were reported to be dead on the spot.
Further investigation has been started by the Police department and the fire has been doused.
