Guwahati News Desk: Seven people were arrested by Tripura Police for allegedly raping four girls at Srinagar in West Tripura on Sunday.
Out of the four girls, three are minors and the accused are aged between 19 to 21 years.
According to sources, the girls were invited to a rubber garden and later they were gang raped on Saturday evening.
The minor girls were admitted to a local hospital while the victim’s family registered an FIR against the accused persons under Sections 376 (B), 120 (B) under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
FIR was registered against eight accused, seven of them were arrested and the remaining one fled away but police officials are putting all their efforts to arrest him.
The arrested accused were identified as Manjit Debbarma (19), Bir Kumar Debbarma (21), Ripan Debbarma (19), Bimal Debbarma (20), Sajal Debbarma (20), Chanki Debbarma (19) and Bishal Debbarma (21).
