Guwahati News Desk: An adult elephant died at Kumarsali in the Manas National Park.
According to the sources, the aged elephant was undergoing treatment for the past one month by two veterinary doctors.
The tranquilliser permission was accorded by the Forest Department but due to poor physical condition, oral treatment was administered since the last fortnight.
Three domestic elephants were also engaged in the treatment of the elephant.
The elephant expired on Thursday at around 4:30 pm.
A post mortem was conducted by the veterinary doctors in the presence of the wildlife warden and media persona as it was reported the elephant was too old with virtually toothless and severe infected lungs.
