Guwahati News Desk: The Assam Book Fair will be held at the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) Playground in Chandmari here from December 29 to January 9. The Publication Board, Assam in collaboration with the All Assam Book Publishers’ and Bookseller’s Association, would organize the Assam Book Fair from 29 December, 2021.
Under the name ‘Assam Grontho Mela’, the book fair would be held for 12 days from 29 December, 2021 to 9 January, 2022 in the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) Playground, Chandmari.
For this year, the theme would be based on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and over 110 book publishers and book sellers would be participating.
10 publishers from Dhaka, 10 from Kolkata and 5 from Delhi would be participating in the fair this year. Apart from that, the major highlights would include the release of more than 50 books, Literary Meets and Kavi Sanmilan.
This is for the first time that a combined book fair will be held in Guwahati due to the current scenario of COVID-19 pandemic. However, if the situation improves from the next year, there will be two seperate book fairs.
