Guwahati News Desk: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma hinted to post bronze medal winner at Tokyo Olympics boxer Lovlina Borgohain as Deputy Commissioner (DC) on Thursday.
CM Sarma said he wished to give her a post of DC and also need to secure her future. CM Sarma also said earlier Hima Das gets the post of DSP for her gold medal feat and shuttler PV Sindhu who was the only female to clinch medal in two Olympics was also given a good rank at her State.
CM Sarma also speaks about Mirabai Chanu of Manipur who clinched silver medal at Tokyo Olympics was given a post of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP).
CM further cited that its not enough for the accolades what we give them as they have done much more for their country as well as their States.
On Wednesday, Lovlina Borgohain clinched bronze medal and becomes the third boxer from India after Vijendra Singh and MC Mary Kom to win a medal at Olympics. Lovlina is also the first boxer from Assam to bring home an Olympic medal.
