Guwahati News Desk: After the reopening of all the business establishment and inter-district travel across the State, the Government of Assam is yet to take a decision on the opening of the cinema hall across the city and State.
Earlier, Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the government has not taken any decision of reopening of cinema halls in the State but the decision to the reopening of cinema halls will be taken soon.
The government had said the decision to open cinema halls will be taken based on the low infection rate in the city.
According to the sources, the cinema halls were in big loss from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the State however it was opened for few days but since April month, the State government have closed down the entire cinema halls across the State due to COVID-19 second wave.
As per reports, more than 2,000 employees were engaged in 80 cinema halls across the State and they have been facing hard days due to lockdown and pandemic.
