Guwahati News Desk: The Assam Government has announced a list of 23 prominent litterateurs of the State who will be given literary pension for the year 2021.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, said, “Today, the names of the candidates for the 2021-22 literary pensions are announced. Congratulations to the distinguished writers who have been selected for this honor.”

The names of the litterateurs who will receive the literary pension are – Jyotilal Chaudhary, Dr Anil Saikia, Kalinath Panging, Dilip Kumar Sarma, Makhanlal Baroi, Maniklal Mahatu, Binod Bhagawati, Utpal Dutta, Nabin Kumar Barua, Rajendra Sarma, Dipankar Ranjan Kaonwar, Tushar Kranti Saha, Tapan Das, Nilmohan Roy, Dr Lakshyahira Das, Biseshwar Basumtary, Aurobindo Uzir, Mangal Sing Bey, Baneshwar Basumatary, Dr Mangal Singh Hazowari, Ranju Hazarika (Kumud Chandra Hazarika), N Lakhikanta Das and Nabin Malla Boro.

The literary pension will be given on December 7 (tomorrow), during the birth anniversary of Sahitya Akademi winner and noted litterateur Homen Borgohain, at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.
