Guwahati News Desk: Ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections in Assam, two top Congress MLAs and a former Bodo People’s Front (BPF) leader joined the BJP on Tuesday.
Ajanta Neog, the former Assam PWD Minister and Congress MLA from Golaghat, Congress’ Lakhipur MLA Rajdeep Gowala, and Bolendra Mushahary, senior BPF leader joined the saffron party in the presence of its state President Ranjeet Kumar Dass and Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“The Congress was a leaderless and directionless organisation that works as a private limited party,” said Ajanta Neog after joining the BJP.
She further condemned the Congress’ association with All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).
Himanta Biswa Sarma welcoming the new BJP members said, “We warmly welcome them. From now on, we expect that they will keep in mind the party’s welfare, and be driven to work for the people”.
