Guwahati News Desk: Jeuti Pathak, a student of Bachelor of Arts in Sanskrit, who hails from Tihu, Nalbari, has fascinated everyone with her artistic leaf-cutting talent.
Studying in 3rd semester at Bhattadev University, Bajali, she started her leaf-cutting experiment during the lockdown.
In conversation with Hello Guwahati, Jeuti said:
“I basically do paintings and all from before itself but during this lockdown, I tried to do something different. And I started experimenting with leaf-cutting.”
Earlier, she used to design names by cutting the leaves with normal blades but after she started designing goddesses and idols, she uses professional blades for cutting them.
According to her, she uses the leaves of jackfruit and fig trees and she designed more than two hundred leaves.
She said:
“I was awarded the India Book of Record and Assam Book of Record for the leaf-cutting design.”
Along with leaf-cutting, Jeuti makes coin art, CD painting, paper crafting, egg painting, tea art, bottle art, bamboo art, as well as sim card art.
