Guwahati News Desk: Bhagyasri Sarma, a student of Bachelor of Fine Arts, who hails from North Kardaiguri, Sarupeta, Bajali, has attracted many people with her beautiful sculptures.
Completed her Masters in Assamese in 2016, later she started her sculpting course at Kokrajhar Music and Fine Arts College in 2018.
Speaking with Hello Guwahati, Bhagyasri said:
“I’m very interested in making sculptures but I didn’t get any platform for doing it. After I post graduated, I came to know that there is a college in Kokrajhar. So, I took admission there and started my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Applied Art.”
Currently, she is in the 5th semester and wants to make her career in here itself.
She added:
“While I was doing my course on Painting and Applied Art, I started observing that there’s a sculpture making class going on. So, I kept myself indulge there and during the lockdown, I kept practicing a lot to improve my skill.”
As she is interested in sculpting work, she started it in 2018 and by seeing her beautiful work, her friends appreciate her too.
According to her, she is not professional but one day, she will be a professional sculptor and establish herself in this background itself.
Thus, she said that she has learned and improved a lot during the lockdown period and utilized her full time in doing so.
