Guwahati News Desk: In a sensational incident at the ‘Amar Path’ under Geetanagar Police Station, some occupants of a Maruti van tried to kidnap a teenage girl on Saturday morning.
The incident happened when the girl of Class-III was proceeding to attend classes in her school.
According to the police, she reported the incident to her parents. She said that she escaped in the first attempt by biting the hand of the kidnapper(s). She added that when the van soon returned, she flung stones at the vehicle and also raised a hue and cry. Then, the vehicle fled from the scene.
Police added that an analysis of the incident in a nearby CCTV of the area showed a white colour Maruti Van at the time when the teenage girl was at that spot. However, there were no other footage of the incident.
Her family members filed an FIR (First Information Report) at the Geetanagar Police Station in this regard on Saturday. Police have started an investigation.
