Guwahati News Desk: A new city bus route will be introduced on the Mother Teresa Road of Guwahati from Monday onwards.
The RTA ((Regional Transport Authority) has taken this decision considering the demands from passengers and bus associations. A maximum of 10 city buses will be allowed from Zoo Road Tiniali up to Narengi via Geetanagar.
Mentionably, city bus services were allowed on the ‘Mother Teresa Road’ earlier for some time earlier. However, the authorities stopped the city bus services on this route to facilitate shared taxis there. After that, city buses found plying on the Mother Teresa Road were fined.
However, considering the necessity of affordable transportation, the city bus services on the route has resumed.
Further, city bus services from Panjabari — that were earlier directed via Geetanagar — due to the construction of the Supermarket Flyover have now been re-routed through the original route.
