Guwahati News Desk: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has said that the B.Ed degree will not be valid after 2030 as teachers will need an Integrated B.Ed degree.
The changes would come in the education policy in coming days says Minister Pegu.
It was also said that the D.EI.Ed diploma for teachers will also not be valid after two years in Assam.
The education department to introduced a four year course for teacher i.e. B.A B.Ed or B.Sc B.Ed or B.Com B.Ed as said by Education Minister in the assembly.
According to the sources, the State government has already sent notification to 72 colleges to start the integrated B.Ed course and 3 out of these 71 colleges have been upgraded to Universities a government of Assam has given its approval to start the course in 68 colleges.
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that the lack of trained tracker is one of the important reason why Assam is lagging behind the national level index.
As per the data provided by the education minister, only 38 per cent of teachers are trained in the secondary level and the remaining 68 per cent do not have B.Ed degrees.
