Guwahati News Desk: A massive win achieved by Bangladesh against Papua New Guinea in Thursday’s T20 World Cup 2021 Group B match held at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.
After thrashing Papua New Guinea by 84 runs in Thursday’s match, Bangladesh finally enters the Super 12s of the ICC T20 World Cup.
After deciding to bat first, Bangladesh scored 181 for 7 with skipper Mahmudullah making 50 off 28 balls and Shakib Al Hasan contributing 46 off 37 balls.
In the match between the two countries, Bangladesh’s bowling was on point and Shakib Al Hasan was the star once again and he was well supported by the rest of his team.
Moreover, after attaining victory, the skipper of Bangladesh, Mahmudullah said that this was a much-needed win. He further added that there was an intent from the batters and the wicket was also a good one to bat on.
On the other hand, for the team of Papua New Guinea the match seemed to be like an uphill task, but eventually they just surrendered, as their team could manage only 97 runs in the entire match.
Also, none of their top 7 managed to score in double digits and the top scorer for them was Doriga who walked in at number 8.
Moreover, had it not been for Doriga, it could have been even more embarrassing for the team.
Regarding the T20 World Cup 2021 Group B match between Scotland and Oman, it is currently taking place at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Muscat.
In the ongoing match Oman has opted to bat first against Scotland.
In addition, the current score of Oman is 106/7, while Scotland is yet to bat.
