Guwahati News Desk: Three planes were hit by celebratory firing to mark New Year’s Day at the Beirut airport, reported a local media.

The planes were owned by Middle East Airlines (MEA) while one of them was scheduled to fly to Dubai on Friday morning.

Firing bullets marking occasions like New Year, weddings and funerals, has previously caused death cases and serious injuries.

However, Interior Minister Mohammad Fahmi has always warned against such practices, as people in the country possess illegal arms.
