Guwahati News Desk: Government of Assam has provided one time financial assistance to committees of Rongali Bihu organizers at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Monday.
The following event was initiated by the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as a cheque of
Rs 1.5 lakh presented to total five Bihu committees as assistance from the state government.
The assistance was provided to those Bihu committees who have been organising Bihu since last 10 years.
According to the sources, the government will provide assistance to 138 committees in Kamrup Metro and 142 committees in Kamrup Rural will receive the same amount.
A total of 1,275 Bihu committees will receive one-time assistance from the government which will be completed in the next three days.
