Guwahati News Desk: BJP leader and Former Union Minister Dilip Gandhi passed away at the age of 70 at a private hospital in Delhi on Wednesday.
Earlier, Gandhi had tested positive for Covid-19 and was undergoing treatment for multiple ailments.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the demise of Gandhi tweeted, “Saddened by the demise of former MP and Minister Shri Dilip Gandhi Ji. He will be remembered for his rich contributions to community service and helping the poor. He made numerous efforts to strengthen the BJP in Maharashtra. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti.”
Gandhi was the Minister of State for Shipping in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led central government. He was Union Minister of State, Ministry of Shipping from January 29, 2003, to March 15, 2004.
