Guwahati News Desk: Ram Swaroop Sharma, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament was found hanging at his residence in New Delhi on March 17.
According to Delhi Police as saying that the 62 years old leader had, at prima facie, died by suicide. The police got a call at around 7.45 am that was made to the Police Control Room (PCR) by his assistant after Sharma did not respond to knocks on his door.
No suicide note was found from the spot however an inquiry is underway and the exact cause of his death will be ascertained after a post-mortem examination, the police said.
He is survived by his wife Champa Sharma and three children.
“Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma was a dedicated leader, who was always committed to solving peopleâs problems. He worked tirelessly for the betterment of society. Pained by his untimely and unfortunate demise. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this sad hour. Om Shanti”, tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
