Guwahati News Desk: A leader of ULFA-I Dwipen Saud was killed in an encounter between police officials and the terror group at Besimari area of Bongaigaon district in Assam.
According to the sources, Saud was appointed as Deputy Commander-in-chief replacing Drishti Rajkhowa.
Soon after the incident, Saud was taken to hospital but succumbed to bullet injury during the collision.
Saud’s gunman Padum Rai was arrested successfully by the police officials with a weapon. From the spot, another weapon and a grenade were also recovered.
The Director-General of Assam Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta says that ULFA-I was planning some high-profile kidnapping in collaboration with other anti-India forces which was blocked by our quality officers which leads to the success of Assam Police.
