Guwahati News Desk: Indian boxer Shiva Thapa reaches finals after defeating Bakhodur Usmonov of Tajikistan in the semifinals by 4-0 in 64 kg category at the Asian Boxing Championship in Dubai on Saturday.
27-year-old boxer from Assam to face Baatarsukh Chinzorig of Mongolia in the finals.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted on the account, “Pride! I called an exuberant Shiva Thapa to personally congratulate him on winning the semi-finals of ASBC #AsianBoxingChampionships in Dubai and advancing to the finals in the 64 kg category. On behalf of people of Assam, I conveyed my best wishes for the finals.”
