Guwahati News Desk: A 10-year-old boy was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Bokakhat in Golaghat district on Thursday.
The incident took place in the forest area near Mikirchang Bagicha village.
The boy was identified as Dip Rawtia, son of Samara Rawtia of Mikirchang tea garden.
According to the sources, the wild elephant attacked the boy while he along with his friend went to the forest to collect firewoods.
After the elephant came to attack them his friends managed to run away from the spot but Dip was attacked and trampled and died on the spot.
The village people and family member recovered the body of the child.
