Guwahati News Desk: The water level of Brahmaputra river in Guwahati rose up to 19 cm at warning level due to massive rainfall in the recent day. According to the sources, the water level in Brahmaputra river rose up to 48.61 cm.
Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation, Ashok Singhal inspected the water pumps and sluice gate of Bharalu river on Friday. Minister Ashok Singhal tweeted, “Today inspected the water pumps and sluice gate of Bharalu river and instructed the officials to ensure the sluice gate of Bharalu river functions smoothly to avoid any hindrance to the flow of water from Guwahati city”.
Most of the areas in Guwahati is still under water due to water logging and heavy rainfall. Guwahati city also witnessed multiple landslide incidents in the recent days.
The Bharalumukh Sluice Gate was shut down due to continuously rise of river water of Brahmaputra flowing above Bharalu river in Guwahati.
