Guwahati News Desk: Bongaigaon Police seized over 140 bags of Burmese supari stocked in a house of Chourguri in Bongaigaon-Chirang district border on Monday night.
The 3 trucks of betel nuts from Myanmar was recovered from Swapan Sarkar’s house which worth Rs 25 lakh.
Sarkar managed to run away before the police team could conduct the raid led by Bongaigaon superintendent of police Swapnaneel Deka.
The official page of Bongaigaon Police shared the information through a tweet that said, âStop smuggling or else see the pictures. Zero tolerance. Attention smugglers. Recovered Burmese supari worth Rs 25 Lacs.”
