Guwahati News Desk: The Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) alone is not the turning point for other political party to defeat Bharatiya Jana Party (BJP) in the Assam Assembly Elections of 2021.
CAA is said to be one of the biggest rally against the BJP government in the State, as many people were seen coming out of their comfort zone and campaigning against the ruling party.
Even five person died from gunshot wounds during the anti-CAA protests.
During the anti-CAA rally earlier in the year 2019, many stood to dismiss the BJP government and even boycott the Assam Assembly Elections 2021. But such fever tends to wash away with time.
To challenge the Saffron party, two new regional political parties were formed, viz., Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and Raijor Dol. And it was believed that these two parties will surely impress the people with a flavour of regionalism but as the result shows their campaigning went in vein. No stones were turned by AJP and RD, and their so called shows on CAA and dreams of abolishing the CAA remains in and within papers.
Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress (INC) also prepared a huge rally across the State and promised that their victory will lead to holding the CAA.
