Guwahati News Desk: An amount worth Rs 1,075 crore was implemented for the biggest river Island Majuli for its protection as every year due to heavy flood some amount of the banks of the island submerged in the river Brahmaputra.
Embankment including roads will be constructed around the banks of the island which will help in securing the heritage island in Assam.
On the other hand, the centre has implemented an amount of Rs 300 crore for the development of the heritage site Kamakhya Temple situated in Guwahati City.
The two implemented project will help to preserve the two most scared heritages of the state, says Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday.
