Guwahati News Desk: A new vehicle scrapping policy was announced by Centre in the Union Budget 2021-2022 on Monday for the old vehicles circulated in the roads across the nation.
Private vehicles older than 20 years and commercial vehicles older than 15 years will mandatory have to undergo fitness tests in automated vehicle fitness testing centres.
The fitness tests will help in saving fuel as the environment-friendly vehicles will reduce pollution and will save the environment, says Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
After the announced, the Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari urges his ministry to work on it immediately as the policy will be implemented in the next 15 days.
