Guwahati News Desk: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the construction work of Majuli bridge will start from November and will be completed within four years.
Assam CM also said that he will review the construction of the Majuli bridge and it will be discussed with the central government.
Assam CM Dr Sarma visited the Nimati Ghat where the accident took place and immediately suspended all single engine ferries with immediate effect. Government of Assam will now upgrate all the ferries engine to double engine for which a fund of Rs 10 lakh will be provided.
CM further informed that a criminal report has been lodged on the Jorhat boat incident as government of Assam will provide assistance to the family of Parimita Das who lost her life in the ferry accident.
