Guwahati News Desk: The Darrang district administration has issued a notification to close down all weekly markets in the district amid rising cases of COVID-19 across the State.
The markets have called to close down from May till indefinite times till further notice.
“In the notification, it was announced the market places to remain close until the improvement of the COVID-19 situation”, says the Deputy Commissioner of Darrang district Dilip Bora.
It will affect towns likes Kharupetia, Sipajhar, Mangaldoi, Dalgaon, etc.
Meanwhile, Udalguri too has closed down all weekly markets in the district.
