Guwahati News Desk: A 60-year-old COVID-19 patient reportedly committed suicide at Mohkhuli Model Hospital in Tinsukia on Wednesday.
The person was identified as Kambhu Tanti, who was a tea worker at Samdang tea estate near Doomdooma.
Tanti and his wife were admitted to the hospital on May 22 after tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the sources, the incident took place at 5 am as one of the hospital staff spotted the dead patient.
At the time of the incident, the deceased wife was not present in the room.
The body has been sent for post mortem and the incident is currently under investigation.
