Guwahati News Desk: The Delhi government on Monday launched the online registration for e-auto permits with 33 per cent reservation for women.
The announcement about the launch was made by the Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot through a twitter post on the same day.
In the tweet, Gahlot informed that in the first phase, 4,261 e-auto permits, including 1,406 for women applicants, will be issued, and those eligible could apply through the website of the Delhi government’s transport department.
He asserted that the e-auto permit is an effective step taken by the Arvind Kejriwal government towards making Delhi an electric vehicle capital. He added that the Delhi government is strongly committed for providing a pollution-free, world-class transport service to the city.
In addition, the transport department informed that any person having an Aadhaar number with Delhi address, valid driving licence of a light motor vehicle or a TSR driving license could easily apply for an e-auto permit.
The department informed that a public service vehicle badge would not be required at the time of application. However, successful applicants would have to obtain the badge within 45 days of the draw of permit allotment.
It added, that the last date for applying for permits is November 1, and that loans with a five per cent interest rebate will be provided through agencies empanelled by the Delhi government.
The department also informed that the government has planned to organize an ‘E-Auto Mela’ at IDTR Sarai Kale Khan and Loni, between October 25-31, where people will be able to explore e-auto models, drive them and get information about loans.
Moreover, the Delhi government, under its EV policy, shall be providing financial assistance of Rs 30,000 on the purchase of the e-auto.
