Guwahati News Desk: Assam Police stands tall after receiving a huge success over drugs as around 600 grams of Heroin was successfully seized by the police officials at Jorabat in Guwahati on Thursday.
Assam Police intercepted an interstate consignment of drugs at Jorabat as drugs worth Rs 4.5 crore in the international market were seized. Two drugs peddlers held by Assam Police so far.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the Assam Police over grand success over drugs and tweeted, “#AssamAgainstDrugs Kudos Assam Police as you continue to tighten the noose around drugs mafia. This morning, Police intercepted an interstate consignment of drugs at Jorabat and seized 660 gms Heroin worth over Rs 4.5 cr in the international market & arrest 2 so far. Good.”
Earlier, Guwahati Police has apprehended two drugs traffickers from Lakhtakia in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The team of Panbazar Police operated a raid at S S Road in Lakhtakia and successfully arrested two Mehboob Ali and Rongmola Begum.
The police officials seized two soap boxes and 99 vials of heroin and 300 empty vials and a cash of Rs 1,01,000 has been recovered and 3 handsets have been seized during the operation.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Panbazar Police have recovered 16 vials of brown sugar of 28.58 grams and 3 packets containing 11.23 grams. Chandmari Police recovered 12 vials of heroin of 15.38 grams and Satgaon Police seized 7 packets of brown sugar of 29.20 grams.
In all the cases 10 drugs peddlers have seen arrested so far. Guwahati Police has already started their war against drugs across the city and many drugs were seized in the past.
