Guwahati News Desk: Guwahati Police successfully seized a huge haul of drugs based on intelligence input in Guwahati on Saturday.
The special squad led by IPS Partha Sarathi Mahanta apprehended a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number MN-07D-3257 and successfully recovered a massive consignment of 100 soap cases of Heroin went of 1.324 kgs worth Rs 7 crore.
The vehicle was tracked by the Special Squad from Moreh to Churachandpur till Sonapur and caught them with perfect action.
The heroin packets were hidden under the front dashboard and inside the tail lights but their smuggling were witnessed flop in front of City cops.
Four people were arrested including two mechanics who were found to be travelling with the vehicles to open it up before delivery.
The accused were identified as Khaiminlal Touthang of 34 years, Seiminthang Mate of 37 years, Paominthang Lhanghal of 30 years and Kailalson Khongsai of 35 years as all the accused were from Manipur.
After the linkages and interrogation with the accused Special Squad of Guwahati Police immediately launched operations in Guwahati City and held two receivers of drugs who were identified as Lulun Kuki of 51 years hails from Manipur and Kamkhojim of 56 years of Nagaland.
In this case the traffickers were used a different modus operandi of using an LMV instead of larger vehicles, the HMV for transporting the drugs.
