Ishita Bora: Hathai.org, an E-commerce site, has been launched today in Hatigaon Chariali, Guwahati, inaugurated by HRD Amarjit Singha.
The site has been developed to avail all Boro traditional items ranging from attires, jewellery, musical instruments and much more to top it off.
Founded by the three trustees of REGA foundation, Sansri Basumatary, Jacklin Boro, and Dolly Basumatary, their aim is look forward to promote women empowerment and help necessitous people.
Sansri Basumatary said: “So today is special day for us because our waiting is going to over after just few hours. We are going to launch our E-commerce site Hathai.org today, as you already know that it is a our small initiative to preserve our cultural, traditional art & to keep our artisans alive by giving them a livelihoods as well to introduce it to the global market, therefore I request all of you to shower some love on us. Will be very happy to serve you.”
Hathai commented: “We channeled a prospect by contemporary analyses on what could be done to moderate the complication of the hardships of the general public on a much larger scale, and vouched out the idea of Hathai.org (E-commerce) site and established REGA.”
REGA is a trust formed to promote, preserve and support the indigeneity of the Bodo community together with other indigenous communities of North East India.
Dolly Basumatary said: “We, at Hathai have seen the grassroot potential of rural artisans-craftsmen and their prospectus in holding up the pillars of the indigenous sentiment of our communities. We are trying to do our part in sending out the message of aboriginality in this fast-pacing modern era and to empower budding young entrepreneurs to showcase their crafts to the general public, while keeping our ideals skill enhancement and uplifting the holders of our faction.”
She added: “Allow others to make the journey and deliver more than expected.”
Thus, customers can get their products delivered to their doorstep in time as Hathai continue to be of service from its operational base in the city.
