Guwahati News Desk: The government of Assam has suspended the Enforcement Officer of Darrang district Jivan Konwar district on Saturday.
According to the sources, the suspension was made over an alleged money scam. It was reported that Jivan Konwar had been taking over the money laundering issue with Transport officer Sanjib Krishna which reportedly went viral on social media.
On the basis of that Jivan Konwar was suspended after the immediate order received by Transport Minister of Assam Chandra Mohan Patowary.
According to the sources, it was said that the minister ordered the suspension of the two officials after the recording of the call went viral on social media on the basis of that immediate suspension was made.
Earlier, the District Transport Officer (DTO) and Secretary of Regional Transport Authority (RTA) of Darrang Kumar Sanjib Krishna has been suspended from his post with immediate effect on Thursday.
The suspension was made by State Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, and according to the official release, the suspension was ordered under Rule 6 (1) (a) of Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964.
Assam Transport Commissioner Adil Khan will inquire into the matter and submit a report within 15 days to the Transport Ministry Patowary regarding the suspension of Darrang DTO.
According to the sources, a video was found circulated in the social media of Darrang DTO Kumar Sanjib Krishna, where he can be seen in inebriated conditions during the official duty hours where he was also heard using slang language while speaking to his office colleagues and staff.
