Guwahati News Desk: One Mizo lady was arrested by Guwahati Police for a fake note printing racket at Mathura Nagar in Dispur on Wednesday.
Guwahati Police launched a search operation in the suspected house as two printers, one desktop computer which is suspected to be used in printing notes were seized. The arrested Mizo lady was identified as Lucy.
After the raid operation in Dispur, another raid was conducted which was part of the investigation at the rented house of one Ajmal Haque at Fatashil Ambari in Guwahati. During the search operation, a number of objectionable items were recovered by Guwahati Police.
During the search, the operation suspected fake notes amounting to Rs 1 lakh, nine fake currency notes, one printer, heat sealer machine, office paper cutter, one ream black paper, white bond paper, polymer paper including SIM cards, ATM cards, and suspected ID cards were seized by Guwahati Police.
Along with the above-seized items, police officials also recovered Assam Police T-Shirt and media passes ID card was also recovered in the name of the accused.
At the time police officials reached his residence for investigation Haque who was a resident of Guwahati flew away as his wife has been taken into custody for interrogation.
Guwahati Police has said they were putting all their effort and have already started their investigation as they will soon nab all the people involved in the fake currency racket.
