Guwahati News Desk: Fake Covishield vaccines were reported to be circulated in India warned by World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday.
WHO urges India to notify the discovery of fake batches urgently. The apex health body asked the people who had taken the fake vaccines to report adverse events.
The fake Covishield vaccines were reported in July and August 2021 as the manufacturer of the Covidshield vaccine Serum Institute of India has confirmed that the products listed in this alert are reported to be fake as per reports the falsified products have been reported at the patient level in India and Uganda, as said by WHO.
The WHO has urged India to call for urgent detection and eliminate those fake products to prevent harm to patients.
